HUASNA VALLEY FARM
HUASNA VALLEY FARM
Farm Overview
At Huasna Valley Farm (HVF) we grow dry-farmed grains, fruits, and vegetables, including many heirloom varieties, in San Luis Obispo County and sell mainly through the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model where members prepay for a share of the harvest. We grow without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides or fungicides and use natural and sustainable methods, though we are not certified organic. Locavores and slow food advocates should note that we are one of the only sources of local grain products around. See below for information on current offerings.

2010/11 Grain CSA Sign-Ups Available
Single Delivery Wheat Berry Only Order Form
We are proud to announce that we are now taking sign-ups for our Grain CSA featuring heirloom Sonora Wheat, grown dry-farm style here in the Huasna Valley.
Members will prepay for freshly milled whole wheat flour and whole wheat berries that are delivered once a month over a ten-month season. Currently we have drop sites in Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo where members can pick up their orders. We do have interest from other locations including Santa Barbara and northern San Luis County and would like to organize someone to relay shares to those locations. CSA start date is expected to be in August or early September as we are in the process of purchasing a new mill (more on this topic next month, but we are looking at low temperature hammer type mills) and upgrading one of our garages into a milling facility. We will announce the exact start date when we get a little closer. For more information and to sign up for the CSA download a form here.
We are also offering a one-time delivery of wheat berries for those who want to store and mill their own flour. These can be picked up at the first CSA delivery date at one of our dropsites or by appointment from the farm. To download a bulk wheat berry order form click here. You might want to download and read the Grain CSA order form as well as it his more detailed information about the wheat and our farm.
Let us know if you have questions or can't access the sign-up forms.
